Here is our weekly backcountry report. We walked up to Blue Lake in the Snowy Mountains Kosciuszko National Park for a look at the early winter snow conditions. With beautiful weather predicted for the weekend it is a great time to come up and see the mountains at their best.
Call in at the shop if you need some advice on where to go. Join us for a beautiful weekend in the mountains.
The season looks to be off to a great start with early falls that seem set to stay around into early June. The weather pattern looks like more early falls so with any luck this will be a longer season than we have had in recent years.
We’ve had a lot of phone calls asking about the snow conditions in the backcountry, with early season trips in mind. So we took a walk up the Munyany Valley as far as Horse Camp hut and took some video so you can see for yourself.
As you can see, it is early days for for ski trips, but beautiful late autumn weather in the mountains and there is plenty of snow for snowshoeing. So if you can get away this weekend an want an early winter adventure come on up! The weather is threatening to come in so bring your warm gear, and if it is too cold call in at the shop for a free coffee and have a look at some of the new season gear.
