The above photos are from yesterdays ski from Munyang power station car park at Guthega to Schlink Hut via Dissapointment Spur trail and back out again. The snow was sensational all the way from the car park! Lots of skiers heading out to the Schlink Hilton, so it’s going to be a big weekend out there!

Dan & Meg took the Chariot for a test drive on Tuesday and the report is “that Chariot is brilliant!” Ashton also tested out the little, little kids Cross Country skis and at the age of 2 made a good start into the world of skiing!
We have the Chariot carriers and conversion kits available for hire and retail. For more information on the Chariot system give Dan a call at the shop for some first hand advice!
Lots of snow has fallen and was still falling at Perisher this morning. We did the 5km track which was knee deep in places. The snow is very dry and there will be some fantastic skiing once the groomers have been over it!

We ventured out to the Northern end of the Park this weekend and found some great snow for an afternoons ski tour. Leaving from Mt Selwyn we headed out for a quick trip towards 4 mile hut and enjoyed the great snow and weather! This is a great area for Cross Country touring and starting from the ski resort we skied the poled track to the junction with table top fire trail, headed back towards Kiandra and then made our own trail back to the resort.
The storms over the past two days had left 50-100cm of snow covering the mountains. The sun was out and the mountains beckoned. I took a few hours off from work in the middle of the day and drove to the Smiggins Holes car park where I geared up for a short trip up to Mt Piper.
Within minutes it was so hot that I had to remove hat, gloves and jacket. I broke trail zigzagging to the top of Mt Piper, eyeing the untracked gentle slopes that I would be telemarking down on my return. The snow was soft and had become a little heavy with all the sunshine. However, the enjoyment was not diminished as the environment was magic. The water crystals sparkled on the trees and the surrounding mountains were beautiful. I look forward to my next two days off with anticipation. I will definitely be skiing more of the back-country.
